En outre Pamela Pianfetti a envoyé à sa branche le message suivant:

Hello there family,
We have been in contact with our cousin, Michel Pianfetti, who is overseeing the restoration of the Pianfetti shrine in Locana.  In the past we've thought of it as a chapel, but with further research we found that these kind of small shrines were common.  Since our ancestors lived in Montepiano, which is in the hills above Locana, we think the shrine was a close place where they could worship and find comfort.  You can see more about it on the Pianfetti Roots link below.
We were lucky enough to see the shrine for ourselves and it was moving to know that many generations of Pianfettis, even perhaps Grandpa & Grandma Pianfetti, actually stood where we were.  Maybe even lighting a candle and praying there.
Attached are pictures of the work that is being done.  We've included some "before" pictures so you can see the progress.  (The pictures with "Reno" are the renovated updates)
Funds are needed to pay for the restoration.  On the Pianfetti Roots site there is information and a PayPal link.  The donation on the link is set at 20 Euro, which is about $23 US.  If you have a PayPal account and would like to donate more than $20 you can do that by using the email address pianfetti.roots@orange.fr
All the funds are kept in a dedicated account specifically to be used for the restoration.
